I’m free!!! It was actually a bit weird going out after all this time and for the first time in 2022! Therefore I eased myself in gently and popped out for a cuppa with one of my oldest friends…as in longest not oldest!! Dympna and I worked together in the Wimpy Bar in Gloucester which was on Southgate Street very near to the Cross. So let’s say we have been friends for at least 46 years!
Dympna wanted to get me a coffee for my 60 coffees for 60 years challenge that I am doing to raise money for Pied Piper and we decided to go to the Glos City Mission Cafe as she had seen me go there on my socials. It did not disappoint either! Last time they had chocolate cake with pieces of mars bar on the top but this time I had caramel cake!! DELICIOUS! well done to Louise, who apparently makes all the cakes there! Dympna recommends the Cappuccino Cake by the way!
We were lucky to chat to the manager Sarah who told us more about what the City Mission do and about the new overnight facility in Eastgate Street, Gloucester. So they need to raise as much money as possible and we want to encourage you to give it a try at the top of the shopping centre.
After recording a new podcast with Martin Mitchell who is an amazing sound engineer and is 70 years young I popped to the Brockworth Pied Piper Charity Shop to see what was new in! Actually all the clothes there are half price all through January…..amazing…
I threw it all on, filmed it and threw it out as a reel for my post today….and bought a long bright ink cardigan, black boots, lovely duck egg blue jumper, sweatshirt with LOVE YOURSELF on the front and a gorgeous Principles Jacket. Oooh and on the way out grabbed 4 glass ice cream sundae glasses which were not half price but what can you say to £3 for 4!
For a first day out after isolation that was taking it easy…Next week is manic! But I am freeeeeee.
If you are one of the 1 in every 15 people that has covid at the mo….try and stay positive, sort your inboxes and try and stay away from the biscuit tin.
